It should, and that is what we map for. A pick-up carrying a ton of gear or pulling a trailer wants torque low down, so it holds a gear up a hill instead of dropping two and working hard. It does not raise your payload or towing limits — those are set by the vehicle, not the software.

Honestly, less than a van that is worked hard. Short, cold trips are the worst case for any diesel, and the fuel saving people notice comes from steadier driving at a constant speed. The response low down does improve, which makes the car easier to drive. We would rather set that expectation now than after you have paid.

Yes. The original software is read and saved before anything is written, so your vehicle can be put back to exactly how it left the factory. There is a charge for a later visit to do that, which we will tell you up front. Bring it up when you book so we have your original file to hand.

Often yes, but a CVT in particular is built around a set torque limit, so there is less room to work with than the same engine with a manual box. We will tell you what is realistic for your exact vehicle before you book, rather than writing a file it cannot use and hoping for the best.
