Do BMW dealers detect remaps?
A dealer flash can overwrite the map. We keep both your original file and your map, so it can be put back — ring us and we will sort it out. The lifetime software warranty is on the software itself: that a file we have written will not develop a fault.
Is my 320d’s gain really +55 BHP?
Stage 1 on the 190 BHP 320d typically reaches ~245 BHP — figures for your exact engine and year come from the reg lookup.
Auto gearbox — worth doing the TCU too?
On ZF-8 autos a TCU remap sharpens shifts and holds gears properly under load — a popular pairing with Stage 1.
Is a remap safe for the engine?
It is if the file is written for your engine and the car is in good order. We stay inside the manufacturer's own safe limits for fuelling, boost and temperature rather than chasing a number, and a diagnostic scan before we start shows up anything that needs fixing first. If the car is not fit for it, we will tell you and stop.
What happens on the day?
